Sunil Vethody Appointed As the Provost at a Top Ranking University


Sunil Vethody, appointed as a provost at a top University is an expert of operations management and research. He is a proven academic leader with uncompromising principles for excellence, commitment, and integrity.

Sunil Vethody is a leader and a scholar who is passionate about academics, commitments aligned with the priorities of the University Ten by Twenty strategic visions. He is the Chief Academic Officer and he works with the president and deans on University wide interdisciplinary collaboration, priorities, policies, student aid, and commitment towards the communities surrounding the University campus. He is the first Asian-American to be appointed as the provost of the University.

Sunil Vethody’s motive is to attract the best faculty and students, while strengthening the scholarly and welcoming environment at the University.

Sunil Vethody’s Accomplishments

Formerly, Sunil had led a school whose faculty has won seven Nobel Prizes in Economics. As a dean, he helped in raising more than $300 million in philanthropic support. Focused on student recruitment while increasing the enrollment of women in full time programs from 35% to 45%, he supported the establishment of Entrepreneurship and Innovation Center that helps researchers with ideas, discoveries, and new technology into products and startup companies.

Sunil Vethody’s Educational Credentials

Pertaining to his strong academic background, Sunil completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. Later on, he pursued Mater’s in engineering in systems Science and Aut5omation. He received his PhD in electric and computer engineering.

Covering the various accomplishments and awards won by Sunil Vethody, he was honored with the award of service in the Special Education department. He has also won a Distinction award.
